Ford clean up in New Zealand 0

The brand new Ford Focus has managed to fend off competition and claim the car of the year prize in New Zealand. The very best motoring journalists and commentators decided upon exactly what car would receive the award.

MWG

The journalists in question are all members of the Motoring Writers’ Guild (MWG) with there being over 25 of them. Winning the car of the year is the award is the most prestigious award of the year. The motoring writers themselves offer extremely tough criteria and raise the standards as high as possible. Ford didn’t stop there however. The Ford Fiesta managed to scoop the “Company Vehicle Compact Business Car of the Year.

Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger also achieved great success winning the SUV of the Year for 2011 and the Ute of the Year from different award associations.

Neale Hill

Neale Hill, the Managing Director of Ford New Zealand put the company’s strategy down as the main reasoning behind the success of the company. He said “Focus winning the Guild award tops off what has been a fantastic year for Ford. It’s certainly a sign that our One Ford plan is working. Perceptions about Ford continue to strengthen, thanks to our ongoing introduction of new vehicles that are leading in quality, fuel efficiency, safety, smart design and value.”

This will certainly go a long way into helping the American automotive giants increase their market share next year and experience a higher level of growth. Many anticipate that Ford will indeed continue their progress from 2011 into this year and become an even more dominant force throughout the country.
