Ford Transit Recall 0

Ford-Transit-RecallNever ending recalls for Ford seem to be the story at the moment. There have been multiple in the first half of this year and now a new one joins the list. Luckily for Ford though there are only a very small number of vehicles that have been affected by this recall.

600 2016 Ford Transit Connect van models have been affected by a malfunction. These malfunctioning vehicles were produced in Valencia, Spain between February 22 and April 9 2016. The brake hydraulic control unit has been affected, and this is why the recall has occurred.

In a statement, Ford stated that ‘Reduced pump performance of the brake hydraulic control unit may decrease the performance of electronic stability control and related systems, including roll stability control, the anti-lock braking system, emergency brake assist, curve control, trailer sway control, traction control and hill start assist; the problem could occur without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.’

Although there have been no related fatalities or deaths linked to this fault, Ford were very quick in issuing the recall and they expect to have all the work completed by the end of August. But because of the small amount of vehicles which form this recall, Ford has stated that owners should contact ford in regard to their vehicle. The American company have also stated that any repair work will be completed free of charge.

This is a serious malfunction but as previously stated, there have been no injuries as of yet. And with many recalls recently, this specific one does not seem too bad in contrast. We hope that there will be no injuries or crashes as a result of the malfunction between now and when the repair work is completed. We are sure that there won’t be but drivers of these vehicles should take extra caution…
