The new 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang 0
The car has been paraded ahead of its live official public unveiling at the Los Angles Motor Show later this week.
It will contain a magnificent 5.2 litre V8 engine, which can achieve more than 500 BHP. It’s an engine that wants and can handle high revs. It is the most powerful engine ever by Ford for production cars. The company have described the engine as the most naturally aspirated Ford production engine ever, a massive statement to make.
The engine is said to make the most of the new Mustang’s finessed chassis dynamics, and it comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
There are currently no engine statistics released by Ford, but experts believe the car will be able to reach 500 BHP.
Designed for road and track
The car will be designed to be driven on the roads as well as the track, which is quite a unique prospect. A special driving experience will be created, with the Shelby being based on the new sixth generation Mustang.
The latest GT350 has been developed by Ford’s SVT performance division. Last year the model was developed by Shelby American, who has stopped production of their GT350.
Ford adopt MagneRide
These dynamics will see the first use of the MagneRide magnetorheological suspension system inside a Ford. It is a system that is used within other high performance vehicles too. It is able to counter the harshness of the road by fine tuning damping at each wheel. This allows quicker responses for quick manoeuvres with high performance driving. On top of that comes a Torsen limited-slip differential. This helps the vehicle perform better by gaining better traction and grip.
19 inch wheels
There is standout 19 inch alloy wheel that come with the new GT350. They measure 10.5 inches wide at the front and 11 inches wide at the back. They also come with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and sidewall construction and tread face, which are specific to this particular model.
The brakes come in the form of Brembo six piston fixed calipers and four piston calipers at the rear. A lot of stopping power is needed in order to contain the outrageous amount of power.
The Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 perhaps doesn’t suit the UK, but there are bound to be plenty of fans of the car here.
