The Ford Mondeo keeps its value better than rivals 0
CAP, an automotive company which provides expert data and statistics on the automotive industry, has predicted that the Mondeo can hold its value better than the BMW 3 Series, Volkswagen Passat and the Audi A4.
£1,750 more than previous models
New models will be worth £1,750 more after three years when compared to the previous model when comparing the same time frame. This represents the biggest increase of any model.
The strength in which the car keeps its value when being compared to rivals is the most significant statistic however.
Staying stronger than the rest after three years
CAP’s Gold Book has stated that a diesel Mondeo 2.0 TDCi ECOnetic Zetec is able to keep 42.7% of its value after three years and 30,000 miles. The Audi A4 2.0 TDIe SE has a figure of 38.3%, with the BMW 3 Series 318d SE being 36.8% and the Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI Bluemotion Tech Executive
Even at higher mileages, Ford believes they will still have a greater advantage when compared to rival cars. After three years and 60,000 miles, a petrol Mondeo 1.5 EcoBoost Zetec will be able to retain 36.1% of its new price. The Audi A4 1.8T FSI 170 SE retains 31.4%, the BMW 320i SE retains 32.3% and the Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI Executive retains 31.5 % in relation to the petrol Mondeo statistics.
Better platform for Ford to compete
Can Ford edge closer to its German rivals now? These statistics may prove vital in helping the American automakers achieve that aim. The likes of BMW and Audi will not take statistics lying down. They are certain to bring about methods in order to Ford from being dominant in relation to deprecation values.
