The Ford Fiesta 2018 0

The Ford Fiesta is set for its upgrade to the next generation. Labelled the 2018 Fiesta, we expect it to be released towards the end of 2017 and it will be an excellent car. We understand that the vehicle will become a lot bigger and longer in order for it to compete in a different car category. This is because the Ford KA, which will be rebranded as the Ford KA+, will take the place of the current Fiesta model. This business strategy makes it seem as if Ford will certainly be trying to penetrate the market currently dominated by the likes of Audi, Mercedes and BMW.

The Ford Fiesta 2018

The 2018 Fiesta will be bigger; we know that from current spy shots of the vehicle. We also know that it will feature horizontal headlights, a squarer nose, whilst the grille will follow the pattern of design which is currently being displayed by the more recent Ford models.

In regards to the vehicles powertrains there is no information to be known at this specific moment in time. We expect it to come equipped with an EcoBoost engine with either three or four cylinders as is now custom in Fords recently released. The current Fiesta is an extremely popular model in Europe and therefore Ford has taken the decision to test the two cars together. This will allow for the DNA of the older Fiesta to remain yet be improved by the 2018 model.

The interior will also undergo a transformation for the vehicle to sell well in a different category. There will most probably be a large infotainment system, smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems, as well as a remote functionality setting allowing for door locking as well as engine and fuel checks.

The vehicle will be impressive but will it sell as well in this new category as Ford hopes? Let’s wait and see…
