Ford Prototype GT testers pulled over for speeding 0

Ford-Prototype-GT-testers-pulled-over-for-speedingEven if you are driving a car from the future, doesn’t mean you can flaunt the speed limits of the present. Three Ford prototype drivers learnt this harsh lesson after furious local police pulled them over for clocking 101 mph in a 50 mph zone.

It took officers from three separate law enforcement agencies to bring the over eager testers of the Ford GT sport-cars to a halt, following the episode on Tuesday morning last week.

The drivers, who were finally brought to a standstill in Colorado’s Glenwood Canyon, about 100 miles west of Denver, will now have to serve court summonses.

The speed limits in Colorado differ from 50 mph to 75 mph when travelling on winding mountain roads. A state trooper spotted the cars speeding through a 50 mph area, but had no way of stopping them, so called in back-up to help.

Eagle County Sheriff’s Office took up the chase and pulled over the trio with help from the Avon Colorado PD.

The penalty for the infringement will ultimately be decided by a judge, as local law decrees that anyone driving at more than 20 mph over the speed limit must be given a summons.

According to DrivingLaws, the drivers may each receive six points or more off their licenses for the offense.

Veil Daily says the 2017 Ford GT has a 3.5-litre twin turbo EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 650 horsepower.
