Fans flock to Silverstone for Ford Fair event 0

August saw fans of Ford flock to Silverstone to pay homage at the annual Ford Fair event. Now into its 32nd year, the festival celebrates all things Ford and 2017’s edition saw over 18,000 Blue Oval enthusiasts visit the circuit.

On display were a wide range of Ford of all shapes, sizes and colours; contemporary, classic and retro.

Over 4,000 were on show at the event. Amongst them was several editions of the cult classic – the Mk2 Escort.

Owners of Fords who fancied taking their motors to the track could book themselves onto a lap of the legendary circuit, which recently played host to the British Formula One Grand Prix.

Classic Ford collectors had access to a wide range of spare parts and accessories in a ‘Retail Village’ dedicated to autojumble.

In honour of the Focus RS, which celebrates its 15th birthday this year, the Mk1 Focus RS Owners Club gathered together a lineup of the rare Imperial Blue cars.

The Escort RS Cosworth, a popular mainstay of the 1990s, was also celebrating a milestone as it reached its 25 birthday.

Other entertainment for the Ford fanatics was a racing display by Paul Swift’s team who took to the track in Ford STs to perform a series of incredible stunts and maneuvers, a good many on just two wheels.

A classic zone featured a series of classics from yesteryear.
