Ford Focus Special Edition 0

Many companies release special edition vehicles as a means to celebrate certain events. Now that the Ford Focus is 40 years old, Ford are releasing a special anniversary edition of one of the most famous hatchback cars of all time. Named the Ford Focus ST200, the vehicle utilises the ST sports variant but goes one step further by adding extra power and new custom features.

The exterior, as previously mentioned, takes its form from the Focus ST but, by adding extra features, the vehicle most certainly looks sportier. Ford have added a large trapezoid honeycomb grille, a new front and rear roof spoiler as well as new side skirts to give the vehicle  an original new look. The hot hatchback will certainly look even hotter with the limited edition colour scheme it has been given. Coated in a beautiful storm grey exterior, with matt black alloyed wheels and red brake callipers, there is no way that this vehicle will not be turning heads on the street.

The car will also be given 10 percent more power than the usual ST. When this power is given to the 1.6 litre EcoBoost engine, the vehicle will be able to produce 197bhp allowing it to achieve an impressive 0-60mph time in 6.7 seconds. The Focus ST200 will also receive upgrades to its suspension, handling, braking and its Electronic Power Assistant Steering (EPAS). But not only that, Ford has also added 27 percent stiffness to the rear suspension whilst also having heavier anti-roll bars installed in the front of the car. So in effect, the vehicle will feel like a go-kart when driven.

The vehicle certainly does sound impressive and we are sure that it will definitely sell well. The ST200 will start of at £22,745 which is £5,000 more than the original Ford Focus, is it worth it though? Happy birthday Focus!!!
