Ford to launch five-door Fiesta ST 0

Ford-to-launch-five-door-Fiesta-STFor the first time, Ford is to release the Fiesta ST as a five door version.

In a move that will dramatically increase the small car’s practicality, the car maker has added several extra-door editions of the hugely popular hatchback. The five-door edition will be priced from £19,495 for the ST-2 (there’s no ST-1 version planned), and it will enter showrooms from October.

In essence, the car’s exactly the same as the three-door. It features the 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine providing 182PS and a 0-62mph time of 6.9 seconds – exactly the same the three door version. Fuel economy is marginally less at 46.3mpg, although Real MPG shows that owners are currently getting about 37.5mpg.

The five-door comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a bespoke grille, and a rear diffuser. It’s available in five colours including Race Red and Spirit Blue. The interior features recaro seats and an individual ST detailing.

Not all models will be available in the five-door format. The Fiesta ST200 won’t be making the transition. This is the more powerful option, which covers 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds.
