Ford hiring 1,000 technicians to work solely on electric, hybrid and autonomous cars 0

Across the UK, Ford dealerships are hiring up to 1,000 technicians to assist with the company’s transition towards self-driving, electric and hybrid engines.

Ford bosses have made clear the need to hire individuals with cutting-edge software, electronic and electrical skills.

Pretty much all the major carmakers are now finally fully embracing electric car technology as a global crackdown on emissions gathers speed and governments announce plans to ban the sale of polluting vehicles.

Andy Barratt, chairman and managing director of Ford Of Britain, said: ‘Although we value traditional technical skills, we’re looking for ambitious and flexible technicians who can join us on our journey to hybrids, battery electric vehicles, and autonomous technology – and beyond.’

Ford has said positions will be available for apprenticeships as well as fully-trained technicians.
