A Testament To Change 0

Finally some good emissions news is starting to surface. We have been plagued with scandals and cheating from multiple companies all over the globe. For example, we have seen the likes of Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Fiat and Opel all affected by attempting to cheat diesel emission laws. But finally, there is some good news surfacing in regards to a company beginning to excel in the emissions world.

This good news comes in the form of vehicles sold. Ford has just sold its one millionth F-150 EcoBoost pickup truck. This vehicle, which is fitted with a more ecologically friendly fuel saving engine is a huge step for the company and vehicle. The previous F-150 pickup was equipped with a gas guzzling V8 engine and with this record sale, it can be argued that consumers have changed their attitudes and have subsequently become more eco friendly.

But not only does the F-150 EcoBoost offer environmental benefits, but it also saves drivers fuel too. Ford estimate that 110 million gallons are saved a year because of this engine, this equates to $225 million per annum. One million vehicles sold is an excellent achievement when previous scepticism with the vehicles release in 2010 is taken into account.

Ford’s truck group marketing manager said that ‘We are proving that with advanced technologies like EcoBoost and high-strength, military-grade, aluminium-alloy construction, Ford continues to outperform the competition by virtually every metric… EcoBoost is delivering the value, capability and performance F-150 customers insist upon, while helping improve their No. 1 demand — better fuel economy.’

It really isn’t that surprising that the EcoBoost has sold this well. There will be a new generation F-150 EcoBoost released in 2017 which is supposed to be more powerful, efficient and environmentally too, so we hope that will be even more successful…
